Disappointed!
Went to HongKong with baby on 6-11 Mar '09. Flew by Cathay Pacific and stayed at Royal Park Hotel at Shatin.
I am pissed off by e personnels at Royal Park Hotel! I will usually bring along my teddy bear when I go on a holiday and this time to Hongkong, I brought it along too!
On e first nite, my teddy bear was sitting on e bed when I came back! E second nite when I came back to e hotel, e bear was missing! I remember tat I left it on e bed before I left for e compulsory city tour at 7.15am tat morning! Called e receptionist and due to e language barrier, she didnt really understand wat I was trying to say! Decided to let baby talk to them and was transferred to e laundry department! The guy from e laundry department mentioned tat e chambermaid didnt see it and said tat it was same chambermaid who has cleaned e rm, which I think tat it wasnt as e style of them cleaning e rm is diff! He told us tat he will check n get back to us e next day which I INSISTED as e bear was given by baby!
After he put down e phone, I called up e manager and told her abt this case, which apparently no one has reported to her! She wanted to come up to e rm to check but was being denied by us as we have searched e whole rm n couldnt find it. In e end, she said e same thing as e laundry department guy which was to get back to us by e next day.
E next morning, e laundry department gal called up and told us tat they found e bear and will return to us at 6pm tat day as they need to wash e bear. When I questioned the gal, she sounded unwilling to tell me e reason n spoke softly saying tat e chambermaid has accidentally brought e bear togther with e bedsheets to e laundry company to wash n they need to wash my bear! I said ok!
When we went back to e rm tat nite at 11pm, my bear was not around! They left us a message in e phone n told us tat e laundry department manager was looking for us! 10 mins later, a manager named Wilson together with 2 other guys brought up my bear and apologised to me abt e whole incident! Wilson even offered us a breakfast for e 2 of us to be billed under his account and a fruit basket! Seeing tat they took e initative to come up and apologise, I smiled back at them n told him tat I was sorry abt e whole incident!
E next day, we woke up late and didnt go down for e breakfast. Thinking tat they will leave e fruit basket in e rm when we go back to e hotel at nite, we left for our day. When we came back at nite, no FRUIT BASKET was in e rm n no msg left for us! E next day when we checked out, they also didnt mention anything abt e fruit basket.
I am not greedy abt e fruit basket but I was pissed off by them! Being a 5 star hotel, shouldnt they have train their chambermaid to exercise caution when cleaning e rm? If today I have left my wallet or even passport on e bed n she has taken to e laundry to wash, wat is going to happen? If I havent complain to e manager abt this incident, would their actions be tat fast? If they didnt want to give a fruit basket to customer as a form of apology, then dont say so!
As a 5 star hotel, I would expect a little more from them! Though e rating of star for hotel in diff country may be diff but if travel agency could mention tat e hotel is a 5 star hotel, it would be a diff case!
To me, they r not sincere in apologising to me at all! If u have promised to give ur customer something as a form of apology, then do it! Dont say for e sake of saying so!
